Everything you wanted to know about Siberian cats and our cattery (and some things you didn't know you needed to ask!)
Sort of! Siberians produce significantly less Fel d 1 protein (the main cat allergen) than other breeds. Many people with cat allergies can tolerate Siberians well. However, no cat is 100% hypoallergenic. Mark, my husband, was severely allergic to cats before we got our first Siberian – now we have eight and he's totally fine! But everyone's sensitivity is different. We always recommend visiting us to test your reaction before committing. Learn more about Siberian allergies →
Our price reflects the quality and care that goes into each kitten: champion European bloodlines, annual cardiologist screenings (by Dr. Sarah Mitchell), comprehensive genetic testing, premium nutrition (Royal Canin + raw food), vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neuter, and weeks of socialization. We're not a kitten mill – we raise healthy, well-adjusted family members. See full pricing breakdown →
A $500 non-refundable deposit secures your spot on our waiting list. When a litter is born, we contact families in order of their deposit date. You get to choose from available kittens (based on your position). The $500 is applied to your final payment. Average wait time is 2-4 months, depending on litter timing. Join the waiting list →
Waiting list ($500): Secures your spot for future litters. Good if you're flexible on timing and want first choice of upcoming kittens.
Reservation ($1,000): Reserves a specific available kitten that you've already chosen. That kitten is yours! Either way, the deposit applies to your $2,000 total.
Kittens go home between 12-14 weeks of age. We know it feels like forever when you're waiting, but this extra time with mom and siblings is crucial for socialization and immune development. Kittens who leave too early often have behavioral issues. Trust us, the wait is worth it!
Absolutely! We encourage visits, especially if you have allergies and want to test your reaction. Visits are by appointment only (our kittens' nap schedule is sacred). We'll introduce you to our adult cats and any available kittens. Fair warning: it's really hard to leave without falling in love. Schedule a visit
Yes, but never as cargo! We use flight nanny services ($400-600) where your kitten rides in-cabin with a trusted pet courier, or ground transport ($1-2/mile) for closer distances. We also welcome you to fly to Austin and take your kitten home yourself – we'll even pick you up from the airport! See shipping options →
All breeding cats undergo: annual HCM screening by Dr. Sarah Mitchell (board-certified feline cardiologist), genetic panel testing for PKD and other conditions, FeLV/FIV testing. Every kitten gets a full vet exam before going home. We provide a 2-year genetic health guarantee. Read our full health guarantee →
Our cats eat Royal Canin kitten/cat food as their primary diet, supplemented with a raw food rotation. This combination provides excellent nutrition and keeps meal time interesting. Your kitten will go home with a bag of their current food and a complete feeding guide. We recommend transitioning slowly if you want to change foods.
Generally, yes! Our kittens grow up with our golden retriever Max and multiple adult cats, so they're already comfortable with other animals. Siberians are social cats who usually adapt well to multi-pet households. That said, proper introductions are key – we'll give you a guide on how to introduce your new kitten to existing pets.
Siberians are fantastic with kids! They're patient, playful, and sturdy enough to handle enthusiastic young cat-lovers. Our kittens are raised with our own kids (ages 7 and 10), so they're used to the noise, activity, and occasional too-tight hugs that come with children. They're basically bomb-proof.
No, deposits are non-refundable. When you place a deposit, we turn away other families and commit that kitten or spot to you. If life circumstances change, we're happy to credit your deposit toward a future kitten instead of issuing a refund. We try to be flexible while being fair to everyone.
TICA (The International Cat Association) is one of the world's largest genetic cat registries. Our cattery registration (#38492) means we're recognized breeders following TICA standards. Your kitten comes with TICA registration papers proving their pedigree. It's basically a family tree for cats!
Less than you'd think! Weekly brushing is usually sufficient, though you'll want to increase to daily during shedding seasons (spring and fall). Their coat doesn't mat as easily as Persian or Maine Coon fur. Regular nail trims and occasional ear cleaning round out the routine. Most Siberians actually enjoy being brushed!
We love talking about our cats! Reach out anytime – no question is too silly.
